Dancing Dragonflies

The Dancing Dragonflies

Sitting on the back porch 

dragonflies flittering 

amidst in delight 

Abundantly overwhelming 

as I watch them dance in flight. 

I imagine what they are thinking 

to be so joyous in their form 

Elated thoughts of carefree moments 

from a past I knew no more. 

So light, So quick 

a flash before my eyes 

Relayed a message in the motion 

of the dancing dragonflies.
